DATASERV'S KELLY TRIPP SPEAKS AT IQPC'S SHARED SERVICES CONFERENCE

Kelly Tripp, project manager for DataServ, the leading hosted service provider of document management, workflow and outsourcing solutions, delivered a presentation at International Quality and Productivity Center's (IQPC) Shared Services Conference this past year to an elite group of Shared Services professionals.

Tripp's presentation topic was Increasing Customer Satisfaction in a Shared Service Organization Through a Performance-Oriented Culture.

"This conference was attended by a lively group of senior level managers who were very interested in measurement and metrics for shared services functions. With an engaged audience, my service oriented topic provoked some great questions and conversations on the value of service. So often, shared service departments are so focused only on cost reduction and transaction volume that they forget to deliver value through a genuine service approach. But based on the quality of the questions that were asked, I was pleased to see many of the attendees commit to reviewing their service measurement approach in addition to their usual quantitative departmental metrics." commented Tripp.

With a sharp focus on the accounts payable function, DataServ provides a variety of unique capabilities to companies as diverse as Emerson Corporation, Kellwood and Sony Pictures Entertainment, among others. In 2005 the company established a global presence with Emerson Network Power, a division of Emerson Corporation.

Striking a Balance: Can finance departments be cost-effective and smart at the same time?

From: CFO.com (CFO Magazine)
By: Don Durfee

In the decade-long marathon known as "finance transformation," CFOs have been chasing two goals. One is efficiency: the routine work of finance — from paying vendors to making reconciliations — should be done centrally and cheaply. The other is business analysis: the finance professionals who work in the business units ought to spend their time helping managers think about how to make money. When a company attains both goals, the results can be spectacular.
