DataServ Hosts Summit to Honor its RightFax Clients

DataServ, the leading hosted service provider of document management, workflow and outsourcing solutions, recently held a Summit to honor clients that utilize its RightFax solutions. The event was held in a private suite at the brand new Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals.

The event offered DataServ's clients and prospects an opportunity to learn more about DataServ and get additional details on the newest capabilities and upcoming releases available with the RightFax product suite. In addition, attendees were able to learn about other products offered by Captaris, Inc., the developer of RightFax.

The evening began with batting practice, followed by a presentation by DataServ's RightFax team, dinner, drinks and a Cardinals game. According to DataServ's president Jeff Haller, "This is our third year having the DataServ RightFax Summit for our RightFax clients. Being at the new stadium made this year's event even more exciting than in years past. This annual event is enjoyable and gives our team a chance to build on our relationships with our clients as well as give them a chance to get to know each other and share information about their RightFax and DataServ solutions."

Established and new clients and prospects found the event to be enjoyable and informational. TALX's Richard Stout had this to say: "This is very nice. Thanks so much for the invite." Ken Rahmoeller, of Western Union, offered: "I just wanted to say thank you for inviting me to the outing at the ballpark this week. It was fun, informational ... and the food and company was great. I look forward to the next one."

By: Jim Fox, Partner, DataServ

Over the last two years, most companies have spent considerable amounts of time and money identifying, documenting and testing controls with internal teams and external resources. These people-intensive solutions have significant and negative impacts on finance budgets and are not sustainable. At the same time, CFOs are leading finance functions to become business partners in support of profitable growth and best in class functions for effectiveness and efficiency. This challenge has left finance functions searching for cost effective and sustainable solutions that enhance the control, documentation and testing efforts of the last few years. This brief whitepaper compares and contrast three options that companies consider when improving the cost effectiveness of the Company's control environment.

Global Sourcing Changes the Way CFOs Think about Sourcing F&A Services

From: Outsourcing Center
By: Paul Nowacki, Engagement Director and Sonal Singla, Senior Research Analyst

Gone are the days when finance and accounting (F&A) outsourcing buyers asked whether offshoring was meant for them too. In the current multi-process FAO market, global sourcing is a value proposition that everyone takes as a given.

Consider this: Since 2004, almost all third-party outsourcing contracts have included an offshore component. This adoption of global sourcing in FAO contracts is equally high across industry verticals and geographies. So now, the question is not whether offshoring should be an element in an F&A sourcing model, but rather how to maximize the rewards and minimize the risks.

DataServ's Jim Fox Speaks at IQPC'S Shared Services Week 2006

Jim Fox, partner at DataServ, the leading hosted service provider of document management, workflow and outsourcing solutions, delivered a presentation at International Quality & Productivity Center's (IQPC) Shared Services Week 2006 in Orlando, FL on March 28, 2006 to a group of leaders of Shared Services organizations.

Fox's presentation outlined the provisions to building the business case for offshoring or outsourcing. Members of the audience learned how to present the outsourcing strategy to senior management, select a provider and ensure that service levels are met as well as what to expect during the transition process. One conference attendee commented, "This is the best content I've seen in a workshop like this in five to ten years." Jim scored a 4.25 out of 5 on the conference survey. The average score was 3.86.

In addition to his presentation, Fox participated as a focus group panelist on the topic Discovering Cost Savings through Process Automation vs. Offshoring or Outsourcing. Among the information this session offered, participants received an overview of a variety of technologies and technology driven processes to improve the delivery of services and when to outsource key activities within a process.

"It's always a pleasure to speak to such a distinguished group. I enjoy conferences like IQPC's Shared Service Week because I can provide valued insights to these business leaders and understand the new challenges they face in driving their businesses. The conference is a great way to exchange ideas and experiences with businesses working to improve process, control and profitability. It also helps us make sure our services continue to be focused on helping these companies meet these business challenges," commented Fox.

DataServ's Kelly Tripp Speaks at RECAP's 10th Annual Enhancing Accounts Payable Conference

Kelly Tripp, project manager for DataServ, leading hosted service provider of document management, workflow and outsouring solutions, delivered a presentation at RECAP's 10th Annual Enhancing Accounts Payable Conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL on March 14, 2006 to an attentive group of Accounts Payable professionals.

Tripp's presentation titled Secret Service: You Bet!, outlined direct and immediate actions companies can use to increase the service impression created by Shared Services Departments and A/P staffs of all sizes.

"There are so many good technology choices out there today - especially with the advent of SaaS or "Software as a Service" solutions like those provided by DataServ. However, the delivery of genuine service still depends on properly oriented people, even in today's technology rich accounting departments. The RECAP conference in Ft. Lauderdale was especially rewarding for me because the attendees seemed to understand that natural balance between systems and people. Everyone asked good questions and many conference attendees commented that they were ready to implement one or more of the immediate service enhancement actions suggested in my session," commented Tripp.

With a sharp focus on the accounts payable function, DataServ provides a variety of unique capabilities to companies as diverse as Emerson Corporation, Kellwood and Sony Pictures Entertainment, among others. In 2005 the company established a global presence with Emerson Network Power, a division of Emerson Corporation.
